Dirk Corneel Jan Abrams (Kontich, April 8, 1959) is a Flemish television presenter and former sports journalist.
He studied communication sciences and began his journalist career at the BRT, since 1980 as a freelance employee, since 1990 as a permanent employee, where he specialized in the sports editorial in football reporting. He regularly presented Sportweekend. He himself considers his comments at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona for his better work. In 1993, he announced his transition to the VTM, where he became a major editor of VTM Sport since 1994. With VTM who won the football contract in 1994 and thus (until 2005), the broadcasting rights opened up opportunities for new television programs. Abrams worked with him and presented the annual Gala of the Golden Shoe, football matches of the Belgian football team and Goal !, weekly on Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Abrams was mainly composer and the face of the VTM sports program Stadium on Sunday evening. At VTM, on 1 July 2000, he laid down his position as sports manager to keep himself busy with the programs. In 2001 he was in the run for the presentation of The weakest link, the VTM version of The Weakest Link, but VTM eventually chose a female presenter, Goedele Liekens.
In early 2004 Abrams returned to the VRT as editor and later editor of the recently expanded Sporza. Then he became in September 2008 after the caption of the 2008 Summer Games 2008 was successfully completed together with Ludovic Beun and Yves Podevyn member of the internal VRT Expertise, XP, a guided thinking tank that had to launch new ideas. On July 1, 2011, he made the switch to the MANUFACTURING HOUSE where he became a program director.
