Eric Bats (Hoogezand, March 16, 1967) is a Dutch radio dj and program maker.
Bats has introduced various radio programs for RTV Noord since 2001. Until 2008 he presented the Eternal Weekend on Sunday afternoon. Since May 2008 he is the presenter of the 'Café Martini' program that will be listened to weekly weekly on Saturday afternoon from 14:00 to 18:00. In this program, as a thread, the popular game word change and musicians on 'Podium Noord' are given the opportunity to act live.
Eric Bats is also the spiritual father of "The Grunny", a prize awarded every year during Groninger Music Day to a Groninger band or artist who has made merit for Groninger music.
Before joining the regional broadcaster, Eric worked for 10 years at Radio Compagnie (the local broadcast of his hometown of Sappemeer) where he made dozens of programs at the time. On December 18, 1993, he established a world record by making 125 hours of uninterrupted radio with three colleagues. This record is still listed in the Guinnes Book of Records.
