Han Qianshaodi was the emperor of China from 188 BC. until 184 BC, from the Han Dynasty. His personal name was Liu Gong. He was a son, probably the eldest, of Han Huidi and a concubine. There are, however, theories that say that Imperial Zhang had adopted him and killed his mother, with the help of Empress widow Lu.
Very little is known about his life and personality. But some important events are known, even his date of birth is unknown. In 188 BC. died his father Han Huidi, after which he, while probably crown prince at that time, succeeded his father. His mother, Empress widow Lu, and his clan, the Lu Clan, had public power over all state affairs.
Just before, or in 184 BC, Han received Qianshaodi, the idea that Emperor Zhang was not really his mother and that Emperor widow Zhang had murdered his mother. He commented that when he was raised, Emperor widow Zhang would pay. Great Empress widow Lu heard this and secretly locked him in the palace, and pretended to everyone as if he was seriously ill and no one could receive. After a while she told a number of officials that he had become permanently ill and he was unable to rule again, and also suffered psychosis. She suggested that he be deposited and replaced. The officials agreed with her wishes and Han Qianshaodi was dropped and killed. The Great Empress widow Lu, his brother, Liu Yi on the throne, changed his name to Liu Hong, and threw the throne as Han Houshaodi.
Qianshaodi, more viewed as a pioneer of Great Empress widow Lu, is often omitted from official emperor lists.
