Leuven in Scene

Leuven in Scene is a three-day and contemporary open-air theater festival in the Belgian city of Leuven. It takes place every two years in Leuven during the Pentecost Week and is free.

Leuven in Scene distinguishes itself from the average street theater festival by choosing resolutely for major acts and installations that you normally do not see in a downtown area. They are therefore tailored to Leuven's tailored artists and are therefore unique. The foundation of the festival is a number of prominent and large-scale performances of top level. Smaller acts serve as a binder and flavor maker. Leuven in Scene 2003

The first episode of Leuven in Scene took place in June 2003. The audience's appreciation was immediate and very large. Some 100,000 spectators took part. Leuven in Scène 2003 collapsed in his first year at the most important Leuven events. Nationally, it belongs to the largest and strongest organizations of its kind.

The festival has a thematic line this year. Not compelling, but feelable. The core word is "lightness" in all possible meanings of the word - literally and figuratively: moving through the air, playing with gravity, looking up the boundary between reality and illusion, .... Anything that is not really tangible or not on the ground is eligible.
