Jan Jaarsma's fireplace and stove factory is a manufacturer of fireplaces and coal stoves in The Hague. She was established on the 33th Fahrenheitstraat since 1906 and was founded by Jan Jaarsma (1843-1901). This building is recognized as a municipal monument.

Jan Jaarsma started for himself in 1895. The Jaarsma coal stove was soon advertised as being a scarcer found heating machine. Unlike the poorly enamelled, quickly worn-out products of indigenous industry, Jaarsma painted with a highly-crafted device (a paint sprayer) was preferred.
The company was mainly a sheet metalworker. The design of the stoves took place at home. The necessary castings were purchased at Ulft ironworks Diepenbrock (DRU) in Ulft. The design was taken care of and the fires were richly copper-plated. Often the filling stoves concerned with mica diamonds. Under the names Hestia, Jupiter, Eros, Mars and Amor they were marketed. Later, the design of the stoves became tighter and the mythological typing teams disappeared. Instead, names like Cyclus and Jan (to the founder).
In 1930, the company was transformed into an NV. The shares came in the hands of the then directors Nicolaas Heye Jaarsma (1879-1953) and Rudolf Teller.
In 1936, the company was acquired by DRU. Nicolaas Heye Jaarsma remained until his death commissioner of DRU. The brand names Jan Jaarsma, Gas-o-Jaarsma and Gasojaar (for gas boilers) remained in use. Stoves for oil stoves were also manufactured. The building on the Fahrenheitstraat became a post office in 1936.
In 1948 the company was called DRU-Jaarsma. External source
