biography

Lannoye was the son of Jacobus Lannoye (1798-1873) and his second and thirty years younger wife Rosalie Debacker (1828-1903). Leopold Lannoye married the 16-year-old Maria-Josepha Monbaliu (1846-1935). Mayor

In 1904, the town council of Dudzele consisted of Mayor Jan Monbaliu, schepenen Joost Van Belleghem and Karel Notterdam, members August Maenhoudt, Louis Fevery, Jozef Inghelram, Gustaaf Bossier, Leopold Lannoye and Frans Bruselle. That year, Lannoye became the new mayor.

The town council of Dudzele consisted of Mayor Leopold Lannoye, Schepenen Karel Notterdam and Louis Vanderhaeghen, Jan Monbaliu, J. Inghelram, G. Bossier, F. Brusselle, Adolf Claeys and Kamiel Danneels. The fact that the previous mayor remained a councilor suggests that he had not resigned his seat and opposed it.

After the election of 15 October 1911, the composition looked as follows: Mayor Leopold Lannoye, Schepenen Karel Notterdam and Lodewijk Vanderhaeghen, J. Inghelram, F. Brusselle, Kamiel Danneels, August Dendooven, Edmond Maenhoudt and Adolf Claeys.

Lannoye remained mayor during the war and until the first post-war election in 1921. He was succeeded by Alphonse De Haene. His death in Knokke was reported as "sudden". Sources Literature
