Incomparable (diamond)

The Incomparable is a diamond of 407.48 carats, amber yellow. It is the third largest diamond in the world (among those worked) after the Golden Jubilee and the Cullinan I.

It was made from a 890-carat rough diamond found in 1984 by a little girl in a dump in a diamond mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The diamond was worked by a group of cutter guides led by Marvin Samuels, co-owner of the diamond along with jewelers Donald Zale and Louis Glick. In November 1984, finished gems were exposed in public: a diamond of 407.48 carats (81.50 grams) cut into triolettes and a further 14 diamonds smaller.

In 1988 the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) attributed to the Incomparable Diamond the "Internally Flawless" classification (without internal imperfections). Purchased by the DeBeers South African company and then sold, you do not know the current owner. Notemodify wikitesto Links externalize the wikitesto
