Lindtse church

The Lindtse Church is a church on the Develweg in Zwijndrecht. Originally, it was the church of the village of Groote Lindt.

The original church building dates from the 14th century (probably 1331). It was a brick crucifix with shallow cross arms, a three-sided choir and a 13th century west tower.

In 1846 the torn stump of the tower broke down and replaced a pointed tower, without a dial.

On March 1, 1912, the church was completely burned, most likely during a plumbing company. On September 28, 1912, the new church was taken into use. For the rebuilding of the new Lindtse church, the financial resources were small: Fl. 19,650, - (incl. Tower). Therefore, it was decided to sew the pulpit and the banks, and the church's decoration had to become sober.

The Lindtse church is a typical church of prey: banks, chairs and gazebo are focused on the pulpit.

Just next to the church is the parsonage dating from the second half of the nineteenth century. In the front yard there is a beautiful chestnut tree, which partly decorates the square for the church. The church building is located a short distance from the Develweg so that a square has emerged at the front.

The Lindtse church has been a national monument since 2000. Municipality
