Ariel Cañete


Ariel A. Cañete (Santa Teresita, February 7, 1975) is a golf professional from Argentina.

Amateur won Teams Professional

Cañete became professional in 1995. In the first years he played on the TPG Tour in Argentina and on the Tour de las Americas. He also played on the European Challenge Tour since 2002 until he took his card through the Tourschool at the end of 2005 for the European Tour (ET). At the end of 2006 he was ranked 139th in the European Order of Merit, and lost his right to play. On the 2007 Challenge Tour, he played two tournaments before he won and won the Joburg Open. He was the first Argentine to ever win in South Africa. The victory gave him two years of play for the European Tour, but due to surgery on his shoulder, he has a medical postponement and may play in 2010.
