Donato Pafundi was born in Pietragalla in the province of Potenza. He graduated in law, then attends Magistrate's work, was elected Senator for the IVth legislature of the Italian Republic in the Basilicata region among the files of Christian Democracy, He was also elected President of the Antimafia Parliamentary Commission (1963-1968).
