Sidubrug

From Siduhebrug The Siduhe bridge is all the more breathtaking because one of the two ends connects to a tunnel through the adjacent hill

The Sidubrug (Chinese: 四 渡河 特 大桥, Sìdù hé dàqiáo) is a suspension bridge in steel and reinforced concrete over the Sidu River. Over the bridge runs the G50 Huyu expressway connecting Chongqing with Shanghai. The bridge is located at the village of Yesanguanzhen in the county of Badong in the province of Hubei, People's Republic of China.

At its inauguration on November 15, 2009, the bridge became the highest bridge in the world, with the road surface 472 m above the water surface of the river. By the end of 2016 this record was broken by the Dugebrug, 565 m above the river.

The total length of the bridge is 1,222 meters, the largest span 900 meters, the pylons are 122 and 118 meters high, respectively, the width of the road is 24.5 meters. The bridge offers space for two lanes, each with two lanes, and a separate lane for maintenance.

From one pylon to the top of the tunnel, the tension cable is anchored in the hillside by a 114 meter long cable. The other side voltage is 208 meters from the other pylon. The steel cables of the suspension bridge each consist of 16,129 narrower cables of 5.1 mm thick.

The bridge was designed by CCSHCC Second Highway Consultants Company, Ltd. The construction period lasted from 2006 to 2009.
