Church of the Holy Family (Monopoly)

Main item: Monopoly (Italy). Church of the Holy Family in the Sicilian district, interior.

The church of the Holy Family of Nazareth in the Sicar district, in the town of Monopoli, is home to the homonymous parish in the Diocese of Conversano-Monopoli. The standard wikitesto modification

In the area where the church now stands, there was a small chapel used by the Masulli family only in summer in the early decades of the twentieth century. Afterwards, after the definitive transfer of the family in the area, it was thought to elevate a parish: It was actually realized in 1943, thanks to the interest of then-bishop Gustavo Bianchi. After the defection of Fr Ottaviano Masulli, the church's leadership was entrusted to the Guanellian Fathers who held it until 1953; the new parish priest Don Gesumino Caprera, who was already vice-parish priest of the Cathedral of Monopoli, re-built the church, which then corresponded the actual rooms of the canonical home. Describe the wikitesto modification

Unique in that of Monopoli, the church also has an octagonal Baptistery, inspired by the forms of similar structures in the city of Parma. Inside the remarkable collection of relics, once visible under the altar and today, after recent restorations and renovations, closed by a marble stone always in the same place. There is a picture of the Holy Family, inspired directly by the Two Trinity picture by Bartolomé Esteban Murillo. The current pastor is the priest Don Pasquale Vasta.
