Fulbert of Sint-Stevens-Woluwe

Fulbert of Sint-Stevens-Woluwe (Sint-Stevens-Woluwe?) was bishop of Atrecht and Kamerijk between 933 and 956.

He was the first bishop of Kamerijk to make close ties with the king of Germany. Under Fulbert, Kamerijk obtained 948 city rights from the Duke of Saxony. In exchange for these rights, Fulbert chose the camp of Otto I the Great during the Ingelheim Universal Synod in 948, but also had to relinquish relics of the Archdiocese Kamerijk at the Dom of Maagdenburg in that year. As a cruel diplomat and in his bishop's role of Atrecht, Fulbert also maintained good relations with the Count of Flanders, including the diocese of Atrecht.

Fulbert is reminiscent of the atheisms of Atrecht and Kamerijk, and in many respects his episcopal was a forerunner of that of Gerard I van Kamerijk (1012-1051). Also see
