Joop Janssen

Joop Janssen (born 1936) is a former Dutch footballer. He joined the Enschede Sports Club from 1951 to 1967.

Under coach Ernie Robinson, Jopie Janssen debuted in 1951 at the age of fifteen in the first team of Sportclub Enschede. The left-wingers grew into Enschede as a valued and solid base player. With the club he made the introduction of paid football in the Netherlands in 1954. In the season of 1957/58, Janssen with SC Enschede walked out of the country championship.

Janssen played five times in the Dutch B-team. Until an appearance in the 'true' Orange, it did not happen, among other things, as Coen Moulijn had a solid choice on the left side. After the Enschede Sports Club entered the FC Twente fusion club in 1965, Janssen remained faithful to his club. The last two years of his career he joined SC Enschede in the third grade. In 1967 he said goodbye. In sixteen years he scored 130 goals for his team.
