Wilfrid Robinson


Wilfrid C. Robinson (London, 1848-1933) was a historian and publicist in Belgium and England. Lifecycle

Robinson lived in Bruges since 1854, where his uncle Arthur Robinson founded an orphanage for English children. He did his secondary studies in the Jesuit-led Beaumont College at Windsor, known as the "Catholic Eton." As an English Catholic, he was Popey Zoeaaf from 1868 to 1871 when the Church State fought against Italian unification. He subsequently settled in Bruges as a rent nurse. Following the First World War, he moved to London where he was a journalist and lived there until his death.

Robinson was board member of the Society for History in Bruges from 1891 to 1910. From 1891 to 1907 he was treasurer and from 1892 to 1905 a librarian. He was involved with Biekorf from the foundation and corresponded with Guido Gezelle. He published in the 'Caxton Review' in the Notes & amp; Queries Oxford ', in the' Catholic World 'and in the' Dublin Review '. In 1901 he became "Fellow of the Royal Historical Society of Great Britain" Publications
