Johnnie Wright (1964)
Johnnie Robert Wright (Mount Juliet, May 13, 1914 - Madison (Tennessee), September 27, 2011) was an American country singer. He became famous with the duo Johnnie & amp; Jack, along with Jack Anglin (May 13, 1916 - March 8, 1963). They were known in the 1930s, 40s and 50s. The duo stopped when Jack Anglin died in a car accident in 1963, ironically when he was on his way to the funeral of fellow country singer Patsy Cline. Johnnie Wright was married to Kitty Wells since 1937. Together with his wife and sister Louise, he founded Johnnie Wright and the Harmony Girls.
In 1964 he scored a hit with Walkin ', Talkin', Cryin ', Barely Beatin' Broken Heart, and with Hello Vietnam he had a number one hit. That song was used as an opening number in Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket movie. In 1968 he collaborated with his wife Kitty Wells on an autobiographical duet, ie We'll Stick Together.
