Cleptoparasitic

Large frigate birds pursue a red-legged gig to take care of its prey.

Kleptoparasitism or parasitism by theft means that an animal feeds with a prey that has caught or killed another animal or a food supply that has made another animal. Stealing of nest material and the like is also considered to be valve toparasitism. Furthermore, a distinction is made between the stealing of food from species and of other species.

It is very common for lions and spotted hyenas to extract food from each other. In different types of birds, valve opera parasitism can occur. Big birds (like the middle hunter) chase a smaller bird until they drop their prey. Butterfly birds and other bird species follow columns of treks and feed the hunted animals. Certain spiders themselves do not make a web but search for other types of webs and steal the patches that end up in it. Some ants do not seek food themselves but stole that of other types of ants, one example is the diefmier (Diplorhoptrum fugax). Also see
