Marthe Vermeir is the mother of Brenda Vermeir and the grandmother of Hannah and Jelle Van den Bossche. Brenda and her husband Bart lead a busy family life. They call in the help of Brenda's mother Marthe. This takes care of the children and does the housework. Marthe becomes a year older and Bart and Brenda see that it is no longer as it used to be. They also take a different housekeeper for a while. When Bart gives his resignation to VDB Electronics, he becomes a family father. Marthe thus disappeared from the series, but came back one more time, at the funeral of her daughter Brenda.
