Mieminger Plateau

The Mieminger Plateau is a medium mountain terrace, located between 850 and 1000 meters above the Oberinntal in the Austrian state of Tirol, on the south side of the Mieminger Mountains. The plateau has a length of fourteen kilometers and is four kilometers wide. Up to the slopes at Telfs and Mötz there is a large decay from 200 meters to the Inndal. In the west, the plateau ends at the Holzleithensattel mountain pass, where the street further extends the Gurgltal towards the Fern Pass. This route was also used as a transport route in the direction of Augsburg in the time of the Romans.

On the terrace are the municipalities of Wildermieming, Mieming and Obsteig. The area is characterized by small-scale animal husbandry and arable farming, which alternate with forest. A large number of cycling and hiking trails and cross-country trails in winter make the plateau a favorite recreation area.
