The Vasojević clan (in Serbian: Vasojevići / Васојевићи) is Montenegro's largest ethnic group in Montenegro. It occupies the area between Vjetarnih Lijeva Rijeka to the south and Bihor near Bijelo Polje to the north, Mateševo to the west and Plav to the east. Vasojevici is one of the seven ethnic Montenegrin groups (Vasojevići, Moraca, Rovčani, Bratonožići, Kuči, Piperi and Bjelopavlići). Vasojevići also corresponds to the name of the same region.

Although today's center is Andrijevica (north-eastern Montenegro city), the group actually stretches to Lijeva Rijeka (Central Rijeka) in Central Montenegro. The founder of the group, Vaso, came to the area after the Battle of Cossovo. The group quickly grew up to occupy the area of the Komovi Mountains and the banks of the Lim River. The group's expansion continued in time towards Serbia's current and the rest of Montenegro. Stored by wikitesto

The first written notation of the Vasojevići group appears for the first time in an archive of Ragusa in 1444. Before this, it seems that the name Vasojevići and then the whole folk tradition of the group arrived to our day only by mouth. / p>

According to the legend, the group would go back to the person of Stefan Nemanja (12th century), the great prince of Raška, founder of the Nemanjić dynasty and, following his death at San Simeone, patron of the Serbian Orthodox Church. > Authors of origin Vasojevićimodifica wikitesto Links externalize the wikitesto
