George Murray (1858 - 1911) was a British naturalist and explorer.
In 1898 he organized an expedition in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean west of Ireland in an area not popular with commercial routes and therefore whose marine fauna and flora was little known. In 1901 he was scientific director of Discovery Expedition in Antarctica by Robert Falcon Scott. While not reaching the Antarctica, board the RRS Discovery to Cape Town to use the crossing time to train scientists who will land on the continent.
