Klaus Stürmer (Glinde, August 9, 1935 - Zurich, June 1, 1971) was a German football player who became a champion in 1960 with Hamburger SV and in 1963 and 1966 with FC Zurich.
Career HSV and FC ZurichAt a youth tournament in 1953 with the German national team, Stürmer taught Uwe Seeler and became well-acquainted with him. After a stopover at Eimsbütteler TV, Stürmer joined Hamburger SV. In 1958 he finished HSV in the final round the German national title but lost it from Schalke 04. Two years later, it hit 1. FC Köln. In the subsequent participation in the Europacup I, HSV Young Boys Bern and Burnley FC switched off to end in the semifinals at FC Barcelona.
For financial reasons, Stürmer performed in the Swiss FC Zurich in October 1961. His final match for HSV was on 17 September 1961 against city rival FC St. Pauli and Stürmer could even score. Between 1954 and 1961 he played 158 games for HSV and scored 114 times.
In 1963 and 1966 he became champion with Zurich and in 196 he even won the double. In the Europacup I of 1963/64 he switched out with his team-mate Dundalk FC, Galatasaray and PSV Eindhoven and lost in the semi-final of Real Madrid.
From 1967 to 1970, Stürmer was active as a player trainer at FC Grenchen. National team
Even after six matches in the Oberliga, the player had to pay for the national football league in the Hannover international against France. However, it took until 1961 before coach coach Sepp Herberger made him a second time for the Northern Ireland. Death
