General Computer Corporation

General Computer Corporation was one of the first video game companies and was founded by Doug Macrae and Kevin Curran.

The company debuted with the game Super Missile Attack, which was sold as an expansion card for Missile Command. The Atari made them cause for this, but was then retired after Macrae and Curran agreed to develop games for Atari, stopping producing unlicensed expansion cards. Their next project was Ms. Pac-Man, which developed as an improvement for Pac-Man. They then brought the game to Midway Games and sold it as a follow-up to Pac-Man.

Authors of other arcade games for Atari, such as Food Fight, Macrae, and Curran have also produced several Atari consoles cartridges. Among these, the Atari 2600 version of Ms. Pac-Man and Centipede and over half the cartridges for the Atari 5200. They also collaborated on the Avi 7800 project and built the first cartridges for that unit.

Today, the company deals with Mac print servers. Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto
