Overview of the 12 most important meridians

The kidney meridian (Zu Shao Yin) is one of the 12 major meridians in traditional Chinese medicine.

The meridian runs on both sides of the body and begins underneath the foot and runs upward inside the ankle, through the inside of the lower leg through the knee and upper leg, through the groin to the genitals and rises upwards navel across the chest to the clavicle, throat and ends with the ears. According to traditional Chinese medicine, this meridian is a yinmeridian and belongs to the element of water. Between 17:00 and 19:00 this energy would be the most active.

In the kidney meridian, 27 points are used in acupuncture, acupressure and reflexology, which would affect fertility, age disorders, ears, bones, hair, feet and anxiety.
