Christ's Redeemer Cathedral (Kaliningrad)


The Russian Orthodox Christ the Redeemer Cathedral (Russian: Храм Христа Спасителя; Chram Christa Spasitelja) is the highest building of Kaliningrad with 73 meters altitude, and thus the largest church building in Kaliningrad Russia.

The church is located at Plosjtsjad Pobedy (Square of Victory). The church was built between 1996 and 2006 and has a traditional Russian-Byzantine style and was designed by architect Oleg Kopylov. It is an octagonal building with arch-shaped entrance gates with a tower above the altar and four spherical towers. The cathedral accommodates 3,000 people.
