Perfect (Katharism)

A parfait was a Catholic spiritual. Both men and women were parfait (s) s. The Cathars formed a Christian, non-church group in the late Middle Ages in southern France and west Germany. The name is derived from 'hereticus perfectus' as the Inquisition called them. That means "verat perfect heret", a catheter who had perfected itself in the Catholic teaching. Worship and life rule

The parfait, after a novic, had received the consolament. This was the only sacrament for the Cathars. It was a form of initiation in the Holy Spirit and happened by laying hands. This brought the divine mind into contact with the Holy Spirit, enabling man to experience his divine origin. After the consolamentum he had to live according to a strict rule. This rule laid down a strict form of asceticism, including the ban on eating animal food and the commandment to practice evangelical morals: a prohibition of cursing, lying and killing. The consolamentum could only be received in adulthood; The Cathars believed that this should be done consciously, in all volunteers.
