Lambertus Hendrik Frederik ("Bert") Gunther (Amsterdam, December 10, 1899 - Arnhem, October 14, 1968) was a Dutch rower. Once he took part in the Olympic Games, he did not win a medal on that occasion. Because of his good performance, he was included in the book 'Top 500 - Best Dutch Athletes' (1999, Anton Witkamp & Leo van de Ruit). At the Olympic Games of 1928 in Amsterdam, at the age of 28, he made his olympic debut on the rowing track skiff. The rowing races took place at the Ringvaart bij Sloten, because the Amstel was rejected by the International Rowing Association FISA. The 2000 m race race was quite narrow and this meant that the Olympic program had been extended. A total of 3000m straight track was available, so that additional training water was available. Teams were not switched off by a special system of repos, but they could still qualify for the semi-final. Gunther achieved the semi-finals through these repaches, but was eliminated with a time of 7.18.0. In the final score he was ranked fourth.
He was affiliated with De Amstel Rover Association in Amsterdam. He was a merchant. Palmares rowing (skiff)
