Case IH

Case IH combine harvester

Case IH is a former United States manufacturer of agricultural machinery, which supplies tractors under the same brand name. This company was formed in 1984 and merged with New Holland in 1999. History

Case IH originated from the combination of the tractor manufacturers Case, David Brown and the International Harvester (IH) agricultural division. The former parent company Tenneco took over Case in 1970, followed by David Brown in 1988, International Harvester in 1985 and Steyr in 1996. Setyr still exists as an independent brand. At the end of 1999 Case IH joined New Holland. Together they form CNH, part of the Fiat group. Acquisition of David Brown

DB was independent, but the competition was killing. In 1973, David Brown was working with Case. In 1980, these companies were also merged. Then the 90/94 series came and was more or less the 770-1412 series at the end. International, also a tractor brand, also collaborated with David Brown. They came with tractors with DAVID BROWN, NASE CASE and INTERNATIONAL CASE. This worked confusingly and in 1988 DAVID BROWN, INTERNATIONAL and CASE joined CASE IH. CASE IH still makes strong and large tractors and machines.

Through the merger with New Holland, Case IH has had to sell the tractor plant in Doncaster, including the tractor types built there. This factory and brand name was taken over by the Italian Argo Group. Argo now produces tractors under the brand name McCormick. Also see
