Slatuinenweg
The Slatuinenweg is a street in Amsterdam-West, located between the Baarsjesweg and the Admiraal de Ruijterweg, with a low-rise area surrounding the area, which is partly due to the period of the former municipality of Sloten.
The Slatuinenweg is a remnant of the former Slatuinenpad, which ran from the neighborhood De Baarsjes in the northern direction through the Baarsjespolder to the Haarlemmerweg. The path was built in 1675 as a church road to give the inhabitants of the neighborhood the Baarsjes the opportunity to walk to the church in Sloterdijk. Because it was built along the trail of hot owl gardens (slatuinen) it was later called Slatuinenpad. It was a popular hiking trail for Amsterdammers.
In 1927 the slatuintjes and the path below the sand disappeared for Landlust's town expansion. The current Willem de Zwijgerlaan largely follows the route of the former road. Only the section south of the Admiral de Ruijterweg has continued and was named Slatuinenweg in 1924.
Slatuinenweg has been in the vicinity of Slatuinen Nature Park since 1991. 52° 22′ 12″ NB, 4° 51′ 48″ OL
