Gatlingkanon

A minraillor or mitrailleuse (the first word is Gallicism: French: Mitrailleuse = Screwdriver; Mitrailleur = Machine Shotgun) is a machine gun, a fully automatic firearm that can fend off a large number of projectiles in a short period of time. In calibrations up to 8 mm, the patterns used are usually similar to those of small arms, but patterns have also been developed specifically for carriers such as the Dutch pattern Nr. 23 (7.92 x 57 R).

Leonardo da Vinci already designed a scrap cannon: an impact on which a number of runs could be fired at the same time. In the 14th century, the so-called organ gun was designed, a weapon that resembled Da Vinci's design.

The first machine gun was built in 1718 by the British James Puckle. This ship's weapon already had a rotating warehouse, but had to be fired with a flame of fire.

In the American Civil War, the Gatling Gun (Gatlinggun) was known as a weapon that was fitted with a bundle that could be rotated with a side-wing crank, with the various runs being fired alternately. The machine gun was first used in history on May 31, 1862 during the Battle of Fair Oaks and Darbytown Road.

The Montigny mitrailleuse, used in the French-German War of 1870, can be considered as a precursor of modern machine guns that were used for the first time on a large scale, both light and heavy, in the First World War. < / p>
