Perth Convention

Map of the Hebrides

The Perth Convention, signed in Perth in 1266, ended the Scottish-Norwegian War. The treaty concluded that the Kingdom of Scotland had the territories of the Hebrides and the Isle of Man. For these two areas, Scotland paid 4000 Marks and an annual amount of 100 Marks. This annual amount of 100 Marks has also been paid for several decades. This Convention also established that Shetland and Orkney (now two territories of the United Kingdom) belonged to Norway.
