Skiinfo


Skiinfo is an international company focusing on the online publication of current winter sports data. The headquarters is located in Oslo, Norway. Skiinfo is especially strongly represented in the Alps and Scandinavia, but is also active in North America and Eastern Europe. Since 2009 information about Belgian ski resorts and Dutch indoor ski slopes has also been published.

History

In 1996, Skiinfo was founded in Norway. Within a few years, the company grew and got branches in other European countries. More than 60 full-time employees in more than 10 European countries work together daily. Today, there are Skiinfo locations and representations in Oslo, Annecy, Turin, Zilina and Münster and for several years in London, Copenhagen, Madrid, Östersund and Maastricht. Today, Skiinfo is one of Europe's leading winter sports portals, with information from more than 2,000 ski resorts and information available in fifteen languages. See information

Skiinfo offers information about snow depths, last snowfall, avalanche events, current weather and weather forecast, temperature, open ski lifts and slopes. There are also webcams arranged on snow levels and current snowfall, and users can compare ski conditions by ski resort.

Nowadays, users can also check the snow conditions of over 2,000 ski areas online. Skiinfo has a Snowfinder module with snow forecast per ski resort. Another service is "Powderalarm": This module automatically sends an email if snow has fallen in the ski area within 24 hours.

Skiinfo also has a database of snow history by ski area. Per year and period it is indicated how much snow there was. This shows how snow safe is a ski area during a certain period of time. Informatiemodules Ski resorts in Austria, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Andorra, Norway, United States, Canada, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Liechtenstein, Belgium and the Netherlands immediately in the Skiinfo database. This information is then available on the internet in 15 languages. National media use specially developed information modules. These modules are used, among other things, by newspapers, magazines, tour operators, ski associations and online tools such as iGoogle. For website administrators, free ski area widgets are available with webcam and current weather and snow conditions by ski resort.
