Symphonic Harmony Orchestra Amsterdam

The Symphonic Harmony Orchestra Amsterdam ("SHA") is a Dutch concert orchestra. The orchestra originated from the Shell Harmony. The SHA is an association for amateur wind music and is led by conductor Vincent van den Bijlaard. The orchestra plays in the highest national section. History

The orchestra was founded in 1938, first in the form of a fanfare, and has been a harmonic orchestra since 1947. The harmony has a long service for concerts and performances in Amsterdam and the surrounding area, but also far beyond (until Frankfurt and Paris). Almost annually, the orchestra is active as an exam orchestra for bachelor and master students, including the Amsterdam Conservatory, for the conclusion of their practical exam. More than one hundred conductors and soloists were accompanied by the orchestra in obtaining their diploma. The harmony is regularly asked to co-operate with masterclasses for music students and firstly to make compositional compositions by beginners.

SHA was a member of ASV's Shell Research and Technology Center Amsterdam, but continued in 2011 as an independent music association. Conductor Externe link
