Timocratie

Timocracy (etymological of the ancient Greek τιμή, timē, "honor", "estimation", and κράτος, kratos, "power") is a form of state in which a certain degree of public well-being is a prerequisite for exercising of political rights or the appointment of administrative offices.

An example of a timocratic state regime was the system that Solon in Athens in 594 BC. entered. He divided the Athenian people into asset classes, after which the political rights of the citizens were directly proportional to the asset class they belonged to. The Roman Comitia Centuriata also supported a timocratic classification of citizens.
