Confucius Temple of Beijing


The Confucian Temple of Beijing is the second largest Confucian Temple in China. The biggest is in Qufu, Confucius's jiaxiang.

This temple was built in 1302. Imperial Mandarins expressed their respect to Confucius until 1911. The year that China was founded and abolished the Mandarin machine. The site has been enlarged twice (during the Ming and Qing dynasty). Now the site has a size of 2 hectares. From 1981 to 2005 the temple housed a part of the collection of the Capital Museum. The Confucius Temple of Beijing is located on the Guozijian Street, near the Imperial Academy.
