In Greek mythology, Calliroe was an Asian nymph, created by Scamandro, the god of the river that bathed the plain overlooking the city of Troy.

He was living with Troo, his legitimate wife and gave birth to four children: Cleopatra, Ilo, Assaraco and Ganimede. It is also reported that Paride frequented the nymph (on the other hand his very distant relative) and seduced him on the Hague where he was feeding the flocks at the time he lived away from Priam's palace. The young man abandoned her for Elena's love and the nymph wept for a long time stolen love. Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto
