perichondrium

Pericondrium is a membrane of dense fibrous connective tissue that carries cartilage in bone growth and provides them nourishment.

It consists of two separate layers: an outer layer of fibrous nature and a more internal layer of condoms. The fibrous layer contains fibroblasts that produce collagen fibers. The condom layer remains undifferentiated and can lead to the formation of chondrocytes and chondrocytes.

Is absent in articular cartilage.

Pericondrium also has important functions in cartilage growth and repair. Voices correlateemodify wikitesto
