Bart Oostindie

Bart Oostindie (Spaubeek, 1976) is a Dutch musician, singer and composer. He is able to use many styles together and sings mainly in Limburgs. Lifecycle

From his 18th he travels throughout Europe as a street musician. After a few years, he is following a program as a guitarist at the conservatories of Maastricht and Amsterdam.

In 2002 Mo'Jones asks him to work on a studio album. Shortly thereafter, Mo'Jones and East India meet at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Of Mo'Jones, Oostindie has taken over the diversity of styles, with influences from the funk, soul, folk and jazz. Also, his collaboration with Mo'Jones is a renewed encounter with keyboardist Mike Roelofs, whom he has learned at the Conservatory of Maastricht. Together they start the lounge / funk formation Down South, which results in the album One on One, produced by Léon Bartels.

At the same time, Roelofs and Bartels started recording the album Ich Weit Desse D'r Bus, of the Limburg dialect singer Arno Adams. If Oostindie is also asked to work with him, he acts with Adams during his live tour. Furthermore, Oostindie and Mo and Skinnie Jones aim for the band Swingkids, who plays gypsy jazz. Finally, he still plays guitar in the band of Sherry Dyanne.

In 2005, he shows his qualities as a singer-songwriter and is the first to win at the Alfa Awards Competition, organized by the L1 TV program De Muziekfabriek. Then Oostindie takes up an album with five compositions, in which his style varies from 60's folk to jazz.

In 2010, he is working on his first real solo album, in which he wants to tell more about his music. In that, influences come from the corner of folk, roots, jazz and blues. Discography
