Carochinha's Stories

Histórias da Carochinha is a brief composition of Brazilian Heitor Villa-Lobos. The four-piece work was written in 1919 and is for piano solo. The subtitles of the parts are related to a fairy tale in which a prince and princess have created their own enchanted world. The music hardly reminds of Brazilian rhythms and Indian folk melodies, which the composer is familiar with. The music consists of four miniatures, which call a French atmosphere. Simple melodies in, for example, the A-A-B-A shape, which are easy to hear and seem to sound simple. What is typically Villa-Lobos is the conclusion of the work, which is not chosen for a normal sounding solution, but by modulation suddenly ends in another key. The work is also available for sologitarian. The work is assigned to Nylzota Ahygarita, Russenha and Kilzota Napoleão. Parts
