Chinese Canadian National Council

Chinese Canadian National Council (CNCC) or Conseil National des Canadiens Chinois is a Canadian council for Canadians challenging racial discrimination against China and teaching the new generation of Canadians of Chinese origin in their cultural history. >

In 1980, the board was established after the incident in September 1979. This incident arose because the television company CTV released a program claiming that Canadian students of Chinese origin at the university were also foreigners, despite their Canadian nationality. The ethnic Chinese were seen as benefiting from Canadian government money. The program made racist remarks and this caused a lot of rage among Chinese Canadians. They protested against CTV and demanded excuse from the CTV boss. In Toronto, a meeting was held by some protesters and CCNC was founded.

Since its existence, CCNC has been strongly committed to discriminating against Chinese Canadians. It has caused the Canadian state to apologize for the "Head Tax Policy" between 1885 and 1923, where Chinese migrants had to pay a lot of money to enter the country. Externe link
