Corvina Veronese

Corvina Veronese is a blue grape variety, which occurs in the northeast of Italy and in the province of Veneto. This grape originates in Croatia and is (still) known as Hrvatica. This grape is used with various other types to make light red wine like Bardolino and Valpolicella. Features

The grapes are small and have a thick peel, leaving some protection against fungus and root. Many color pigments are not present, and this type also lacks a large amount of tannin, which produces only light wines to be drunk young. The wine is aromatic with tons of almonds, cherries and other red fruits. Typically, the first buttons on the loops do not bear any fruit; therefore he needs a long loot and must be guided via a pergola or spalliera to give any yield. The Corvina is at its best when used for recioto wines. Recioto is the process in which the grapes are picked up for a number of days on wicker mats, thus obtaining concentrated juice, as excessive juice evaporates. Synonyms
