Daniel Katz


Daniel Katz (Helsinki, November 25, 1938) is a Finnish writer. He was once called the first Finnish-speaking Jewish writer. He studied at the faculty of the University of Helsinki. Katz has worked as a religious teacher, tunnel drill and interpreter.

His oeuvre includes novels, short stories, plays, plays and television series. He is the best known of his debut novel Kunoisois Suomeen hiihti (When grandfather came to skiing in Finland), a humorous family chronicle about a Jewish gender in Finland and Russia.

His books are translated into multiple languages, including German, Swedish, Estonian, Hungarian and Czech. Dutch translations of his books do not exist yet. Today he lives in Loviisa, Finland. Bibliography Romans Externe link
