Domenico Mancinelli

Domenico Mancinelli (Bologna, June 23, 1724 - Bologna, October 16, 1804) was an Italian oboeist and composer.

Mancinelli was oboe at the chapel of the Basilica of San Petronio in Bologna from 1760 until his death. Despite this, he lived for a few years in London, the city where he published most of his compositions. He wrote a large number of duets for two flutes to be played by his students (all members of the English aristocracy). Its elegant and easy-to-use compositional style belongs to the gallant era. Their work prefers the use of short-lived motion and are characterized by predictable harmonic progression and rhythmic vitality. Composition modifies wikitesto Bibliografiamodifica wikitesto
