From Mars (De Blesse)

The Mars is a corn mill in De Blesse in the Dutch province of Friesland.

The mill was built in 1834 for the Schlecht family In 1916, a count of this family sold the mill to a cooperative. Schlecht remained a miller, but soon they were mechanically milled and the mill was detached from hood and wicker cross. In 1958 the top side was also demolished. After the sale of the mill to a private investor in 1985, plans for overall recovery occurred. In 1997, the rebuilding was completed in 1999. The mill is named after the owner.

The wicker cross has rows of 18.20 meters long, which are equipped with the Oudhollands fence with sails. The equipment consists of one pair of millstones. Volunteer millers regularly run the mill. 52° 50′ 35″ NB, 6° 2′ 20″ OL
