Italian energy and environment thermotechnical committee


The Italian Energy and Environment Thermotechnical Committee, acronym CTI, is a non-profit making association with the task of carrying out regulatory activities in the fields of thermotechnics and production and use of thermal energy, and its environmental implications .

The CTI is a federated entity at UNI, the Italian National Unification Authority.

Founded in association on December 15, 1950, the CTI has been recognized as a legal personality by the Decree of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Crafts, corresponding to the current Ministry of Economic Development.

To fulfill its mission and provide users with regulatory tools that are useful for the development of the thermotechnical sector, the CTI uses the collaboration of public bodies, organizations and associations that, through their technical and financial support, activity, which consists of:

On the international front, CTI collaborates with CEN and ISO standardization bodies, representing, as UNI representative, the activities of several technical committees (TCs) and their working groups (WGs), some of which hold its own technical secretariats. Together with its regulatory activity, which is often supported, the CTI dedicates its resources to national and international research activities, mainly focused on renewable energy sources and energy saving, such as alternative fuels, fuels derived from waste and development of pilot regulations aimed at containment of energy consumption.
