Kruislaan (Amsterdam)

The Kruislaan is a street in the East district of Amsterdam. The street derives its name from her location; she crosses the busy middle road. The street belonged first to the municipality of Watergraafsmeer, which was incorporated by Amsterdam on January 1, 1921.

location

The street begins at the Weesper side at the Weesperpresistance. The Kruislaan then continues under the viaduct of the Gooiseweg (city road S112). After that, the street runs north-east, originally to the Ooster Ringdijk. The lane crosses the Middenweg, a busy road. Buses 40 and 41 drive through the street. Character

The Kruislaan is a few kilometers long and the first part is for local traffic only. The section between the Fizea street and after the viaduct is just a foot and bike path. At the point where the Rozenburg Avenue overflows in the Kruislaan it becomes an important thoroughfare that runs from southwest to northeast through the entire district. At the beginning of the street, as well as in the middle, there are some sports parks and a cemetery. Several blocks of houses are located on the north-west side of the street. On the south-east there are only houses at the intersection with the Middenweg. Science Park

The Kruislaan goes through the Muiderpoort-Diemen railway line. Since December 2009 there is also a stop, the Station Amsterdam Science Park. At the end of the Kruislaan there is an area with scientific and technological institutions and related companies, the Amsterdam Science Park. The most northeastern part of the Cross Avenue, between the Carolina MacGillavry Avenue and the Ooster Ringdijk, was given the street name Science Park in January 2009. Kruislaan 261 (the station) is now the highest number on the Kruislaan, all addresses with higher numbers have been replaced by Science Park addresses. Highlights
