The late nineteenth century building (1880-1887) was built over the area of the church and convent of the crucified fathers destroyed in the earthquake of 1783, designed by Giacomo Fiore, Giuseppe Managò and Giuseppe La Bruto.

The palace has a truncated stone profile and is adorned with Doric columns on the ground floor and ionic on the first floor. Inside there is a court, with two-storey porches, covered with a glass roof for the agents' meetings, featuring beautiful paintings. At the entrance of the palace four cast iron statues.

The palace was damaged by the 1908 earthquake and subsequently demolished as its area was devised by the new 1911 governor plan to the new town hall.
