Atropoisomeria

In chemistry, atropoisomeria (or atropoisomerism) is a type of stereoisomer, namely conformational isomerism, which occurs when the rotations of the individual bonds are prevented due to steric repulsion between the substituents (from Greek "a" + " tropos ": without movement). The molecules, which in this situation are found to take blocked conformations, are, for this reason, separable at room temperature. in these cases, conformational isomers become configurable isomers as distinct and separable species under experimental conditions.
