Flood change on a high-speed train in Germany

An overflow change or changeover is a coupled switch that can be switched between two parallel tracks of track. An overflow change consists of two switches that are electrically coupled to one another. Usually there are two overflow alternators, so that trains can change trains in both directions. Such a dual overflow change can be performed as a crossover or as two overflow alternatives. Flood switches, performed as a crossover, along a platform

Transfer bills are used for the following purposes:

Although overflow bills are often in the middle of a double-sided course, they do not form part of the free job. By the way, the free lane can not be changed by rail. Thus, overflow swaps are always part of an emplacement.

Flood switches used solely for work or calamities are usually in the upright position so as not to impede regular train traffic. In order to keep the bills current and to avoid excessive rust formation, the bills must be routed regularly. This is scheduled in the timetable for rowing. A train that changes track through the first overflow change, and immediately returns to the same track via the second overflow switch drives a cat back.

A special variation is the changeover, this is an overflow change that can be applied to tram lines on the existing track. This is used when temporarily on part of the line, but only one track is available. A changeover can only be done at a very limited rate. A transfer change, a temporary overflow change on the coastal tram. Also see
