Pierre David (Verviers January 9, 1771 - June 30, 1839) was industrial and member of the National Congress. He remained single.

From the French Time, David became active in public life in Verviers:

Under the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, he was City Council member of Verviers.

In 1830 he was appointed mayor by the provisional government and decided that the council sessions would be public in future. On the front of the town hall he wrote 'Publicité, sauve-garde du peuple'. In 1836 he was re-elected and re-appointed mayor. He also became a provincial councilor.

In 1830 he was also elected a member of the National Congress for the Verviers district, where he resided until April 1831. He was one of nine Congressmen who voted for a republic. Later he voted for the association of Belgian provinces with France. He did not stay in a Congress that evolved completely in another direction, and resigned before the end of the work.

On June 30, 1839, David wanted to vent his hayloft. When he opened the shutters one loose and fell down. David was diverted, fell with his head on a stone, and was killed at the time. Literature
